Partnering with our clients is fundamental and core to our existence. Partnering is also fundamentally different from the way most consultants work. We find most consultants in one of two camps: either they are “a pair of hands” or they are the “experts”. The pair of hands is the contractor “for hire” that temporarily fills needs and gaps within the organization. In this relationship, the power is mostly with the organization. On the other end of the spectrum is the experts who are hired as the “all-knowing” authority and whose wisdom and advice is assumed to be “exactly” what the organization needs. In this relationship, the power is mostly with the consultant. At FlawlessLeaders™ we consciously refuse to engage in either of these working relationships. Instead, we choose to partner with our clients in a 50/50 collaborative relationship where the power is shared and the contracts are balanced. We find it is the most difficult of relationships, but also the most productive and meaningful. When we develop and nurture this relationship with our clients, we maximize desired outcomes. We also find that our superior results cause our clients to engage with us in additional projects. Most of our clients have been our clients for years.
